I appreciated good breakfast, panoramic views.
The staff was courteous and polite. The room was spotless and airy, included a storage space, climate control, and coffee facilities. This bed was exceptionally comfortable and I could sleep like home.

Great breakfast, lots of meals. Magnificent and convenient location in the next street instead of going to bus terminal and easy access to a bazaar and shops.

I stayed here for a trip and would definitely come back. I had standard double room which was recently renovated, exceptionally comfortable bed. A good sized balcony, free wireless internet, and a mini-fridge turned out to be good.
Didn't like the area, it was not great.

The staff and people generally were extremely helpful. I had GOOD food for breakfast on hot food options. It was in a very central setting in the next street instead of going to bus terminal. And it was not too far away from Adil Muftuoglu, ate there couple of times.

Fantastic, magnificent location really close to main train station, agora and bazar, great places to eat right by the sea and Kordon nightlife and sea promenade...

Location close to the promanade, Izmir and the surroundings and Alsancak where the bars/restaurants are. Outstanding breakfast on hot food options. Free parking on site provided.

Clean, comfortable rooms with amenities like water, tea, coffee, fridge snacks. English-speaking staff. Walking distance to main train station and metro. Lovely connection to local culture.
Felt privileged, no complaints.

Exceptionally clean, very friendly staff, good location for travellers or a city break ie: next to railway station, taxi rank, easy access for shopping in the city. Although we relocated to Cesme after 2 nights, it was nothing to do with the service provided at the hotel. No penalty costs incurred either.
Original description said 15 min walk to the beach - that's been amended now - it's a very busy port. Advised not to go out after 8pm (2 older females). On the 'downtown' side of Izmir, it was a bit unnerving being stared at and followed, but I am sure it would have been different if my husband had been with my mother and me.

We recommend this hotel, spent here very comfortable 2 nights. The breakfasts on hot food options. Loved our triple room with terrace, clean sheets plus balcony. The location was particularly good, approx 10-15 minutes' walk from Kemeralti Market. Plus it was in a busy area.

We stayed two nights in hotel Baylan Basmane We had a spacious, modern and quiet room. Very clean with comfortable beds, a modern bathroom and a little vault. The hotel changes the bed sheets every day. The staff is very friendly and offered us twice a plate with fresh fruits. The breakfast was good with a rich choice. The hotel has a guarded parking.

Great retreat, I didn't want to say goodbye.
The location was awesome, near the primary tourism sites, Pasaport ferry terminals and the metro and the train station. The breakfast with like the scrambled eggs was great.

The location of the hotel was great - within easy walking distance of an open-air museum. There were reasonably spacious rooms with clean sheets and bathroom, for example.

The interior of the hotel is good and the staff is friendly and helpful. They allowed us to have an early breakfast when we had to catch an early train. The hotel is also conveniently located near a central area and a train station, making it easy to explore the city.
Avoid the area surrounding the hotel as it feels unsafe, especially for single women travelers. Many adult men loitering and sleeping along the side of the lane leading up to the hotel.
